Time does not stand still and dictates its own changes. Business and culture are adapting to the digital world and creating convenient platforms for visual communication.
We, at CHYRKOV studio, were honored to create a new and modern website for the Odessa National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, which is not only a masterpiece of world’s architecture, but also one of the main tourist attractions of Ukraine and our beloved city of Odessa. As a result of working out many options for solutions, we have created a completely new theater’s website with an emphasis on its cultural heritage, but at the same time added modernity, functionality, dynamism and, most importantly, convenience for users — theater-lovers of all age groups. The structure of the site was updated, creating more convenient and efficient navigation. In order to improve the UX of online ticket purchases, the theater’s repertoire and events pages have been completely redesigned and updated. Finally, most importantly the site is now fully adaptive to mobile!
In design, we wanted to preserve and convey the architecture of the theater, its creative atmosphere and unique beauty. All statues were taken from the facade of the theater.
In total, over 110 screens were designed and over 50 key page templates were created. The works lasted almost a year, are currently completed, and we are pleased and happy to present you the new site of the world famous theater!
We've received several awards for this projects:
— "1 place: culture, entertainment, community" at Web Awards UA 2021
— "Best UI/UX" at Web Awards UA 2021
Let me express my gratitude to the whole talented team of CHYRKOV studio specialists and to you personally for creating a website for the Odessa National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre!
The new website of the Odessa Opera meets the requirements of modern web design and high standards of refined style, manufacturability and convenience , and also differs favorably from all existing opera sites with a "perfect" combination of artistic and technological goals embodied in this large-scale project! The work on the new website is a great example of effective, creative and professional cooperation between the CHYRKOV studio team and theatre staff.
An exclusive website design solution based on the creation on each page of animated pictures depicting sculptures that adorn the facade and interior of the theatre (and never repeated), as well as other unique ideas for the theatre website were able to convey the special atmosphere that reigns in the famous Odessa Opera House and is unforgettable.
From the bottom of my heart I wish you new interesting projects and inspiration for their implementation!
Best Regards, General Director N.M. Babich
